The Rise of Artificial Intelligence – The Rise of Deepfakes.

Artificial-Intelligence

It’s becoming the norm, since Google’s ChatGPT became an internet sensation, companies everywhere have benefitted from the rapid growth of Artificial Intelligence.

Businesses of all natures have utilized Artificial Intelligence into their technologies, recently, Andrew Elvish from Genetec, discussed how cameras were essentially computers – ready to be fitted with advanced technologies such as AI.

However, with the rise of accessible AI coding, there inevitably comes improved technologies ready to be used by threat actors across the digital landscape. Deepfakes are becoming more modern place, as individuals gain access not only to high quality photo editing, but voice recreation technology, through a quick google search, ex-presidents of the United States can be found discussing sensitive issues in crude ways. Messages are becoming more distorted and individuals are becoming easier and easier to slander, many AI-Focused sites off their programmes to audiences for free – contributing to the incredible pace at which these AI-generated videos are being developed.

Looking at Artificial Intelligence at the Cybersecurity Panel

So how to do companies protect their reputation when they can be so easily replicated, their identities stolen by threat actors?

At the Security Middle East Conference, we’ll be looking at the ways in which businesses will need to understand how to navigate the digital landscape as to conduct business within the Saudi Vision 2030 Initiative. Daniel Norman of the ISF will moderate a panel which takes cybersecurity experts and has them discussing these threats – and the ways in which companies will be able to combat them, whether thats extended verification technology, or new regulations on the use of artificial intelligence.

Artificial Intelligence holds great promise, but with it, comes technology such as Deepfakes, businesses will need to be at the forefront of knowledge to continue operating at their best in the coming, turbulent days of the cybersecurity market.
