The Diriyah Gate Development
One of the speakers at the Security Middle East Conference is that of Craig Ross, who is currently taking the role of the Senior Safety & Security Manager at the Diriyah Gate Development Authority, overseeing the development and ensuring that everything is running smoothly for staff and local businesses alike.
The aim of the Diriyah Gate Development Authority is to establish Diriyah as a SAR 64 billion development project. It will become a 7 km2 mixed-use historic, culture and lifestyle destination that acts as the cultural heart of the Kingdom, showcasing the 300+ years of history through inspiring performance and artistry – along with, of course, architecture.
The entire town will be redesigned, demonstrating both new urbanism and the historical Najdi architectural typology, supporting local businesses and including destinations such as museums, galleries, restaurants, retail experiences, public squares, hotels, multiple recreational spaces, residence, educational institutions and offices alike.
The Diriyah gate aims to be a SAR 64 billion global tourism destination – in the future, the development plans to house a projected population of more than 100,000, with more than 25 million visitors annually.
The city will allow for development of careers and family, with incredible places to bathe in the star-lit night, or simply enjoy a high quality of life in the day to day of Diriyah.
But such an overhauling comes with challenges – many of which, without a keen bespoke solution can spiral into a number of other problems.
As part of the Security Middle East Conference in 2023, we’ll be looking into and discussing the ways in which developments such as the Diriyah Gate Development, can be handled by companies of all shapes and sizes heading toward the Saudi Vision 2030, with the help of the aforementioned Craig Ross.
