The Security Middle East Conference started just after 9 am, following 300+ c-suite decision makers taking to their seats and getting comfortable. Following a brief introductory video, Fahad Alghamdi, Chief Operations Officer from our strategic partner SAFE – The National Security Services Company, gave a brief welcome speech. This was then followed by Aramco’s Bader Alsubaey, who gave the first keynote speech of the day.
Around 09:30, the first-panel security discussion began. Moderated by Luke Bencie of Security Management International, the panel discussion was designed to dive deep into tourism security. The security discussion was titled “Preparing security professionals for major events and increased tourism.”
Luke Bencie was joined on stage by fellow thought leaders:
– Tawfeeq Alsadoon, the group head of security at Red Sea Global- Konstantin Turuntsev: Managing Partner at Event Concept Consultancy
– Trevor Sinden: Regional Manager from March Networks, the silver sponsor of our event, and finally,
– Andrew Long: Principal Security Risk Management Consultant from WSP Middle East.
Each member brought a different perspective to the conversation, with Tawfeeq Alsadoon describing how Red Sea Global are preparing giga-projects and events within giga-projects for increased tourism and security. Konstantin Turuntcev and Trevor Sinden gave specific details regarding the influx of data that comes with increased tourism and how this increased data can continually inform new security solutions. Andrew Long further defined what a ‘risk’ was, and pointed toward infrastructure future-proofing as a necessity to support increased events and tourism.
The group were given round-robin-style questions, about upcoming events, and how their various companies are prepared to deal with the rise in people, data, and unique security situations.
