NEOM’S Ace in the Hole: GIDORI
Part of the Saudi Vision 2030 initiative, Gidori is a brand new giga-project revealed last month as a part of NEOM, the region housing revolutionary builds and development initiatives which are to redefine the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and break it free from its oil dependency, such as the Saudi Vision 2030 initiative.
Gidori is proposed to be a state-of-the-art golfing destination unlike any other, with exceptional facilities allowing for a destination far away from anything other holiday destinations have to offer.
“Set around a championship golf course in the Gulf of Aqaba’s coastal hills, Gidori will be an ultra-modern community like no other. World-class leisure, living and sporting facilities will blend with the natural landscape to offer a one-of-a-kind experience for guests and residents.” – The official description on the Gidori website.
Built into the coastal landscape, Gidori meets the sustainability goals of the Saudi Vision 2030 initiative, aiming to advance tourism in ways that incorporate the beautiful natural landscape of the Kingdom.
Gidori as a resort offers luxurious beach-front views, with 190 sea-view apartments which are also built into the natural environment of the Gulf of Aqaba.
Also advertised are premium dining experiences, signature retail stores known throughout the Kingdom and tranquil gardening spaces for a truly relaxing getaway experience.
As Gidori and similar giga-projects shift closer to becoming a reality, new challenges are revealing themselves regarding the maintenance and security of these luxurious tourism destinations. As part of the Security Middle East Conference, we will look at the evolution of Security in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and how it needs to evolve to meet the demands of a global audience.
