A New Part of NEOM: Leyja – 33 times bigger than New York
This week, developers of the NEOM project announced Leyja, a $500 billion smart city, 33 times bigger than New York.
Set in the mountainous ranges of NEOM, Leyja will be built with three pillars in mind – adventure, oasis and wellness. Each pillar will have a unique, high-quality and futuristic hotel dedicated to them.
The mountains are designed to be incorporated into the futuristic design of the architecture, with 95% of Leyja to be dedicated to the mountain ranges that compromise the zone in northwest Saudi Arabia, and the city itself being built into the foundations.
The innovative design comes at a time when the world desperately needs new solutions to ecological problems, something the directors of NEOM and Leyja address in a press release on the NEOM official website.
“Neom is a new vision of what the future can be,” creators say on neom.com.
“It’s an attempt to do something that’s never been done before and it’s coming at a time when the world needs fresh thinking and new solutions. Put simply, Neom will not only be a destination, but a home for people who dream big and who want to be part of building a new model for sustainable living.”
An innovative, condensed city such as Leyja or the Line – another project within NEOM, will require innovative security solutions to match, a topic which will be extensively covered at the Security Middle East Conference 2024.
